HALVED MATCH V SENIOR MEN

We held our annual pre season match v the county senior men at Houghton Le Spring GC on Saturday 9th April. We had a good day, the weather threw everything at us, snow, sleet, cold wind and sunshine.

The match was halved 3-3, with every game except one going to the 18th hole. if the last put of the last  match had gone in,  instead of hanging on the rim we could have won. An extremely close game.  All the players enjoyed the match and well done to all, special thanks to Jane who was a very late replacement for Pat.

CHESHIRE MATCH 2021

The last Richardson Trophy match of the year was played against Cheshire at Wilmslow golf club on Monday.   After a downpour on Saturday which closed the course, the practice round on Sunday was played on a heavy course with slowish greens.  Monday dawned fair and our team went into battle against a very strong team of Cheshire players who proved to be just too good to beat. With the notable exception of Matianne who got a half, Cheshire won all the matches.  A disappointing finale for the team - but there's always next year and well done to Jennifer and all the players for battling their way through what has been a difficult season.
